The Falcons finished their final Friday Night Matches with 11 stellar contests. Veterans and newcomers both brought A games and showed a determination and will to win. Boxer of the week honors go to Boyce Loomis winning a hard fought match against Cory Tintzman. Both boxers landed heavy leather in all three rounds. Loomis used good combinations and hand speed to keep the powerful Tintzman at bay. As the semester closes the Falcons appear motivated to stay in shape and come back on weight and in good aerobic condition. The next opponent will be exam week and the multitude of projects and papers to be completed. Most feared as always will be Physics!!!!! Ouch!!!! The cadets will return to USAFA January 6th with Friday bouts and competitions in Seattle and Reno looming large prior to the start of the Wing Open tournament. The Coaches have challenged the entire team to have a great work ethic over the holidays. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!

The first Friday Night bouts of the New Year kicked off some greatmatch-ups in various weight divisions. Many boxers showed the effectsof a nice long holiday break as well as the return to the thin air ofColorado. Many boxers used their sheer will power and determination togut out very close bouts against game competitors.

Please congratulateC1C Willie Lloyd who was voted the most outstanding boxer of the week.Willie used relentless aggression, quick punches, and hard combinations to defeat his opponent.

The Falcon boxing team will be competing nextFriday, 19 Jan at 1630 hrs for another night of bouts in the upperboxing room. Please come out and support your AFA boxing team. Specialthanks to all coaches and officials who helped out during the bouts.
